PERFORMANCE: Barnsley Hospital Foundation Trust narrowly missed the 95 per cent target for seeing A&E patients within four hours in December.
The trust had also missed it in November but its year to date performance is 95.6 per cent.
A report to the board says that ‘attendance levels have been well above both contracted and actual levels from the pervious year.’
Yorkshire Ambulance Service contributed to further problems affecting patients due to be discharged, with a knock-on effect on bed availability, adds the report.
“Extra capacity has been provided by a private contractor to provide additional support,” it says.
