PERFORMANCE: Barts Health Trust has missed the 95 per cent accident and emergency target for quarter two, a report reveals.
A report by chief executive Peter Morris to the board said the trust “marginally failed” to meet the target of 95 per cent of patients seen within four hours of attendance in A&E.
He said: “This is against a background of a material step increase in non-elective admissions at The Royal London from April 2012. While we have seen sustained improvement at Whipps Cross, and signs of improvement at Newham, the position remains fragile.
“We have a comprehensive action plan which has been shared with NHS London and commissioners to deliver in excess of 95 per cent during Q3 and Q4. Working closely with partner organisations, it will be led by the clinical academic groups and supported by the chief operating officer’s team.”
