PERFORMANCE: The Department of Health has allocated an extra £82.5m to London to help it cope with winter pressures.
A report to NHS London’s board said: “On 20 December the Department of Health confirmed that £82.5m had been allocated to London to provide additional funding for winter pressures. £25m of this was to be passed to local authorities for social care. The remainder is to be allocated by the 15 February, or returned to the DH.
“London has in place a plan to allocated the funding according to bids received via primary care trust clusters. To date circa £36m has been allocated, with a further allocation by the 18 Feb using the majority of the remaining funding.”
