FINANCE: The east London hospital trust was one of two in the capital to finish the last financial year with an unplanned deficit.
A report from NHS London said the trust had finished 2010-11 with a £7.9m deficit “despite the intensive challenge and support to ensure that recovery plans were implemented”.
It said this was due to: “ Cost improvement programme slippage mainly resulting from the inability to implement its transformation scheme fully during the year.”
