FINANCE: The finance director of one of England’s largest hospital trusts is leaving, HSJ has learned.

Mark Ogden, who is responsible for the finances of Barts Health Trust, is to leave at the end of January for personal reasons, the organisation has confirmed.

It started the year predicting a deficit of £44.8m but the most recent forecast for the end of 2014-15, published last week by regulator the NHS Trust Development Authority, showed this had slipped to £64.1m.

The £1.1bn turnover organisation is expected to announce a significant worsening of its deficit position at its board meeting next week.
