WORKFORCE: Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed a local supermarket manager as a lay member on its governing body.

Alison Borrett has been appointed patient and public lead, and is the CCG’s second lay member.

She is expected to remain in post for three years.

Ms Borret is currently a Waitrose branch manager, based in Ampthill, and has worked in retail management throughout her career.

She said she was “delighted to have joined the clinical commissioning group”.

Steve Hone, the CCG’s lay chair, said: “Lay members are a valuable asset to our governing body and I am delighted Alison has been appointed to this role.

“Her extensive experience of working across retail will be invaluable in all aspects of our work.

“In particular, her knowledge and expertise in using the voice of the public in developing her stores will support our engagement work and assure the governing body that the voice of the local population is heard.”
