PERFORMANCE: The Berkshire East health economy has been upgraded from “failing” for the first time in more than 18 months.

The South Central strategic health authority has changed its rating to “performance under review”.

Berkshire West is rated as “performing”.

Berkshire primary care trust cluster board papers for March said both PCTs were expected to hit their financial targets for 2011-12.

The 18 week referral to treatment target for Heatherwood and Wexham Park Foundation Trust is set to be met on 1 May, with all other waiting time targets will be met by 31 March.

Infection control rates for C difficile will not be met in West Berkshire and are unlikely to be met at Heatherwood and Wexham Park.
