FINANCE: Berkshire East primary care trust was forecasting it would achieve its planned surplus for 2012-13, after committing to releasing contingency funding to cover overspends on several providers.
At month five the PCT reported “significant over performance” forecasted on its contracts with Frimley Park Foundation Trust, Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust, Oxford University Hospitals Trust, South Central Ambulance Service Foundation Trust , and Ashford and St Peters Foundation Trust.
These were “partially mitigated” by underspends in dental, prescribing and out of hospital care. “The remainder is being covered from a contract risk reserve and a third of the contingency has been applied to enable a planned surplus of £1.2m to be forecast.”
Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead clinical commissioning group is anticipating an under achievement of their surplus of £122,000.
