STRUCTRE: The Berkshire primary care trust cluster’s plans to transfer community service properties to Berkshire Healthcare are “inconsistent with Department of Health guidance” and the issue will take months to resolve, HSJ has learned.
The trust took over community services from Berkshire East and Berkshire West primary care trusts last year under the Transforming Community Services programme.
According to its integration “action list”, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, the trust had hoped to reach an agreement in principle on the issue with the PCTs by October 7th.
However, the document says, “PCT issued a draft proposal to the trust on 5th October (later than originally planned) which is being considered. The proposal is inconsistent with the DH guidance and it is envisaged that it will take several more months to resolve.”
