PERFORMANCE: Stroke care services at Berkshire West PCT have been given the lowest assessment score in a nationwide review by the Care Quality Commission.

Services for people who have a had a stroke and their carers were given the “least well” rating overall.

Berkshire West got an average score of 2.47 compared with an average of 2.75 for the South Central region and 2.93 for England overall.

The primary care trust was rated well for early supported discharge, but got the lowest score for five measures, including services for carers and support for participation in community life.
