FINANCE: Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust has reported a better than expected surplus of £2.6m in 2011-12, thanks to the release of reserve funds.

The figure was £56,000 more than target.

However the trust’s divisions were £271,000 overspent at the year end. Board papers for April said: “However… this has been offset by reserve funding and has not impacted on planned investment.”

Deficits in the trust’s rehabilitation division are considered “non recurrent and will be managed during 2012-13”.
