RESEARCH: Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust has opened a new dedicated clinical trials facility, in place of its former practice of undertaking research on wards, it has reported.
The trust’s July report to Blackpool Council’s health scrutiny committee states: “Blackpool Teaching Hospitals has recently opened a newly refurbished clinical trials facility within the Blackpool Victoria Hospital site.
“The new clinical research centre is a much better environment for both staff and patients,” it said.
“In the past research was undertaken on wards or in busy clinical areas which wasn’t always ideal. Now, for the first time, there is a dedicated space which is just for research and is a much better environment for everyone.”
