COMMERCIAL: Bradford District Care Trust has begun an integration of two clinical IT systems.
The provider is working with provider ReStart Consulting and using Intersystem’s Ensemble product to provide a single point of access for GPs and community services staff.
The project seeks to integrate GPs’ SystmOne system and CSE Healthcare System’s RiO, used by the community provider. Currently they share patient information primarily through paper-based referrals and discharge letters.
Phase one of the integration project is set to go live in September 2012 and testing has been completed. The aim is to enable basic transactional integration.
Trust head of informatics Tony Middleton said: “The integration between these two systems is part of a wider Healthy Ambitions initiative in Bradford to join up health and social care.
“Both the SystmOne and RiO systems are critical to the trusts they serve, and it was vital that the Trust, both System providers, and our Integration Service partner, ReStart, worked together as closely as possible to enable the success of this project.”
