FINANCE: Attendances at the new South Bristol Community Hospital minor injuries unit are below planned levels, creating a risk of an overspend for commisisoners.

A paper to the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire board said there was a year to date overspend of £196,000 as a result of a failure to transfer activity from University Hospitals Bristol accident and emergency department to the MIU as planned.

The PCT is hoping to switch 12,000 attendances, saving £1.9m.
