STRUCTURE: Two Buckinghamshire clinical commissioning groups are consulting on whether to merge.

Board papers for the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire primary care trust cluster say the CCGs “are currently consulting on the options of proceeding to authorisation as two separate bodies or as one CCG”.

“They have an active approach to engagement with the practices and voting on the proposals will be completed by 25 January 2012.”

Meanwhile the Rycote Practice in Thame has opted to transfer from one of the Buckinghamshire CCGs to the Oxfordshire CCG. The practice has been part of primary care groups and PCTs in Buckinghamshire since 1998, but has recently reviewed its options and asked to be part of the Oxfordshire CCG.

The request was accepted, and will take effect in April.
