WORKFORCE: David Sines has been appointed to the board of Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust as an associate non-executive director.

Professor Sines will not have voting rights. A trust press release said he “brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the trust, [and] will play a key role in influencing the decisions of the board”.

He is currently pro vice chancellor and executive dean for society and health at Buckinghamshire New University.

Professor Sines has also served in senior managerial roles at Imperial College Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital, University College Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Guys and St Thomas’s.

Acting chair Brenda Kersting, said: “David is an outstanding appointment and we look forward to working closely with him as the trust strives to deliver the very best healthcare. 

“David’s experience and knowledge will be of great value to the trust as we strive to enhance the quality of our services and the experience of our patients.”

Professor Sines said: “My appointment will enable Buckinghamshire New University to continue to support the trust to deliver its people strategy and to share opportunities for workforce development, evidence-based practice and professional education.”
