WORKFORCE: A new chief executive has been appointed at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust.
Owen Williams, currently chief executive of Calderdale Council, will take over in May after his appointment was ratified by the trust’s membership council.
Mr Williams said: “I am looking forward to working alongside staff and membership councillors to continue to improve health services for the people of Calderdale and Huddersfield.
“We are moving into challenging times but I am confident that the trust can work with patients and the community to continue to improve the quality of services.”
Chair of the trust Andrew Haigh said: “Owen has a wealth of public sector experience which, combined with the experience of our executive team, will ensure that the legacy of our current chief executive Diane Whittingham continues.”
Ms Whittingham is leaving the NHS at the end of March.
Director of nursing and deputy chief executive Helen Thomson will be the interim chief executive until Mr Williams joins the trust.
