Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust has won a contract to provide the armed forces with mental health services.

The Ministry of Defence announced the trust will continue to provide local in-patient mental health care for serving military personnel in the eastern region, following a competitive tendering process.

The trust works in partnership with seven trusts around the country, led by South Staffordshire and Shropshire Foundation Trust, to provide the service, which is based from a special unit at The Cavell Centre in Peterborough, to MoD staff.

The trust has been providing this service since 2009.

Trust chief executive Attila Vegh, said: “It is a great privilege for the trust to be re-awarded this contract, and to be able to continue to provide acute mental health care to armed forces personnel in the eastern region.”
