PERFORMANCE; NHS Camden was one of three boroughs in the North Central London primary care trust cluster to miss its stop smoking target in the first quarter of 2012-13.

A report to the board of the NCL board in September said: “Camden has reported its key issues in Q1 as data quality issues which arose from the service provider’s use of an older version of the database that lacked some functionality.

“This has now been rectified and staff have been trained in its use. There was also a period without a team leader, but this post was filled in July. Sessions have been run to raise public awareness of the service and GP practices and pharmacies have been sent letters reminding them of the need to increase service uptake. As a result of these initiatives performance is expected to rise in the next two quarters.”

Camden achieved 217 quitters against a target of 248.
