FINANCE:South Cheshire CCG board papers warns of the financial pressures facing Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
Of particular concern is the fact that the trust did not meet its quarter one A&E four hour waiting time target combined with an ophthalmology backlog both of which are driving up costs.
According to the board papers: “Although there is a high level of over performance, premium costs are being incurred because of the additional staffing. Because of this MCHFT have requested additional support from the CCG to the tune of £1.8 million.”
The CCG has agreed to place conditions on its contract with the trust including fixing a year-end position and providing additional support.
