COMMERCIAL: Central and North West London Foundation Trust has won a bid to provide community services in Milton Keynes.
The London-based community and mental health services provider beat several more local bidders to the contract to run NHS Milton Keynes provider arm.
CNWL beat bids from Milton Keynes Hospital Foundation Trust, Bedford Hospital Trust, North Essex Partnership Foundation and Oxford Health Foundation Trust.
Jane Halpin, area director for the National Commissioning Board (Hertfordshire & South Midlands) and chief executive of NHS Milton Keynes said “We have been determined to find the very best organisation to acquire Milton Keynes Community Health Services to ensure the continued provision of good quality community health, and related social care services, for the people of Milton Keynes. Having undertaken a rigorous and thorough evaluation process we firmly believe that CNWL is well placed to do this.”
One senior figure in the NHS Midlands and East area told HSJ the process was “a triumph of process over common sense.”
