FINANCE: Central Manchester University Hospitals recorded a surplus before exceptional items of £7.3m for 2012-13, according to its May finance report.
The foundation trust recorded total NHS clinical income of £748.7m for the year. It also recorded £132.2m of other income, including £45.4m for training and education, £18.3m for research, and £5.2m for privately funded patients.
Its non-pay expenditure was £6.7m higher than planned, at £302.3m, but this was offset by a paybill that was £7.2m lower than planned, at £499.3m.
