PERFORMANCE: NHS North West was dragged into a row between Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Stockport in December over increased waiting times for diagnostic tests at the foundation trust.
In that month CMFT breached the six week waiting limit for key diagnostic tests on 29 occasions relating to Stockport patients.
There were 11 breaches at the foundation for gastroscopy tests, failing against the primary care trust’s target limit of less than ten breaches a year for any one of 15 key tests.
A report to the PCT’s February board said CMFT had responded to a letter from NHS Stockport by “denying relevance of the target”.
It said: “This response has been escalated to SHA and NHS Manchester. NHS Manchester met with CMFT in December and an outcome of the meeting is awaited.”
