This is the latest in a series of interviews with provider chief executives, which are available exclusively to HSJ Insight subscribers.

Rob Webster

Over his six years at South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust, Rob Webster has forged a reputation as one of the NHS’ most respected trust chief executives.

Mr Webster was named HSJ’s number one chief executive in the NHS in 2021 – becoming the first mental health trust leader to receive the accolade. The panel of judges praised Mr Webster’s commitment to improving staff wellbeing, tackling health and workforce inequalities and championing system working.

These qualities have recently led Mr Webster to take on the full time leadership of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Integrated Care System – a role he previously combined with his trust CEO job.

Speaking to HSJ in July, on his first day as full time ICS leader, Mr Webster describes the skills he’s needed to lead a trust and ICS through a challenging pandemic, and his vision for the future of healthcare.
