PERFORMANCE: West Middlesex Hospital has gained the top rating in all three categories in the latest annual assessment of its inpatient services.
The acute hospital in Isleworth, West London, was rated “excellent” for environment, food, and privacy and dignity in the assessment by the patient environment action team (PEAT), part of the National Patient Safety Agency.
The result puts the trust in the top 15 per cent of NHS and independent organisations taking part in the annual check.
Sue Daw, trust acting director of nursing and midwifery, said she was delighted by the achievement.
“Last year we achieved an ‘excellent’ score for privacy and dignity and ‘good’ for food and environment,” she said.
“We have worked hard since then to further improve on our already high standards and I am very proud that we have achieved excellent results this year.”
PEAT inspections are carried out by local NHS staff and patient representatives and audited by the NPSA.
