Purdah left last week’s DH media diary rather empty, but as always Gillian Merron was an unstoppable whirlwind of activity.

Instead of telling everyone to foxtrot their way to fitness, the minster was distracted by trifling concerns such as radiation and hepatitis C.

But at least that other minor issue, the economy, isn’t holding her back: End Game’s attentions were drawn to a parliamentary question in which Ms Merron revealed the DH has spent £650,000 on publicising dance classes and “digital expenses” related to its Let’s Dance campaign.
