Sir Simon Stevens will speak about NHS leadership and priorities for the coming year at HSJ’s leadership virtual congress on Wednesday, it has been confirmed.
The NHS England chief executive is expected to discuss proposals to create integrated care systems as part of new health legislation, and how the service should approach its major challenges of the coming months, such as long waiting times for planned care, the covid vaccination programme, and doing more to reduce health inequalities.
Senior healthcare leaders can request an invite to register for the session, which will be at 10am on 14 April, and for the remainder of the HSJ leadership virtual congress.
You can also join congress sessions on 22 April, on redesigning and digitising care pathways in the wake of covid-19, developing ICSs, and tackling health inequalities (the partners for those sessions are Visiba Care, McKinsey, and Cerner respectively).
It comes with ICSs expected to be created as statutory organisations, replacing clinical commissioning groups, in April 2022.
