STRUCTURE: NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly have organised a series of 11 public meetings to discuss the effect of NHS reform on local service configuration.

The public engagement programme follows a meeting organised by Andrew George, MP for West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, in Penzance on 28 January to discuss the health white paper and local health issues.

Speakers included local GPs, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.

Concerns were raised about future organisational arrangements for community services and the provision of services in West Cornwall Hospital.

In his report to the board on February 28, acting chief executive Steve Moore states: “As a result of this event and other feedback, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly
will be undertaking further engagement on the way forward for adult community health services and other changes arising from the white paper.”
