STRUCTURE: A review of vascular services that could lead to reconfiguration of services in Devon and Cornwall is almost complete.

During October and November expert panels co-ordinated by the Specialised Commissioning Group will be reviewing local assessment of the services provided at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Plymouth Hospitals Trust in a network arrangement between the two organisations.

The review, part of a programme ordered by NHS South of England across the whole region, will check whether the trusts are complying with new guidelines from the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

A report to NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly’s board identified a risk that non-compliance with standards could result in reconfiguration of services.
