COMMERCIAL: NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly is seeking to procure a single accountable provoider to hold contracts for primary care and pharmaceutical services on the Isles of Scilly.
A call for expressions of interest says the “unique geography of the islands means that often a mainstream contracting solution suitable for the mainland does not work for the island community”.
It continues: “Therefore, following extensive engagement with patients, the public and other providers of health and social care, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly are seeking to procure a single accountable provider to hold an Alternative Personal Medical Services (APMS) contract for primary medical services and a Local Pharmaceutical Services (LPS) contract for pharmacy services and seeking innovation to ensure accessible, reliable and regular optometry services for the island community. Dentistry is not included in this procurement.”
