STRUCTURE: Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust have agreed a series of measures to integrate community and acute children’s services.

Royal Cornwall will use the RIO patient record system for children that Cornwall Partnership plans to roll out from October while “honouree contracts” will be created allowing ideas and personnel to move between teams.

In addition, the two trusts will work on the development of a paediatric healthcare at home service which aims to reduce high levels of paediatric admissions in the county.

The changes will help bring services in the county in line with the recommendations of the Kennedy report in 2010 which recommended all children’s services be bought together.
