FINANCE: County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has rated “amber/red” its performance against commissioning for quality and innovation pay-for performance measures.
A performance paper says: “Some risk is being seen in relation to delivery of performance during quarter four [January-March 2011], where a 100 per cent threshold has been set in areas such as pressure ulcers and falls [management].”
The paper says the commissioning PCT has “recently agreed to review the thresholds in these areas to recognise the significant improvements that has been achieved as well at that set for the national patient survey”.
However, it adds: “A divisional level action plan will be developed during May 2011 once results are formally published on the 21 April 2011. The outcomes of these
discussions and the associated action plans will be reported to the board once agreed.
“The trusts performance on VTE remains strong with performance over 90 per cent being maintained… Some improvements are being seen in relation to stroke services but potential risks remain in terms of maintaining performance until the hyper acute model is in place.”
There is work ongoing to improve maternity smoking, caesarean rate and maternity booking CQUIN measures.
