STRUCTURE: Coventry and Warwickshire’s five clinical commissioning groups have been merged into three after a strategic health authority risk assessment flagged concerns over the proposed configuration.
The five proposed CCGs had been: South Warwickshire; North Warwickshire; Rugby; Nuneaton and Bedworth; and Coventry.
Nuneaton and Bedworth has been merged with North Warwickshire, while Coventry and Rugby will now form a single CCG.
Arden cluster board papers say: “The cross local authority boundary issue for Rugby is deemed acceptable on the basis of the patient flows into University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and has been supported in principle by both local authorities.”
