WORKFORCE:  Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust has appointed a former local media mogul as its interim chair.

Martin Gower is a a former managing director of Coventry Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the Coventry Telegraph, Nuneaton Tribune and other weekly newspapers and websites.

Mr Gower has been a board member at the partnership trust for around two years and became vice chair last year.

He takes on the role after the resignation for personal reasons of former chair Dr Mike Goldstein.

Mr Gower said: “Mike has made a significant contribution during his time with the trust, and we must capitalise on this by making sure we recruit a permanent successor in that role as soon as possible.

“I aim to do whatever I can to make sure we stay bang on target for our ambition to become a foundation trust next year.”

The trust said the Appointments Commission will now begin the process required for the appointment of a permanent chair.
