PERFORMANCE: Coventry primary care trust is reporting a sharp improvement in performance for cervical screening, although it remains below target.
The target for cervical screening is for 100 per cent of women to be receiving results in 14 days as of December 2010.
In September the PCT reported a 14-day turnaround for just 34.2 per cent of patients. However this increased to 98.8 per cent by January 2011.
The PCT’s legacy document from August this year, obtained by HSJ under the Freedom of Information Act, said “plans and monitoring are in place to address the underperformance”.
