PERFORMANCE: Eight serious untoward incident investigations (SUIs) at the foundation exceeded their 45 day time limit in 2010, a summary account of its latest board meeting shows.

Directors at the 24 February board meeting were presented with a report on all SUI investigations at Cumbria Partnership between 1 January and 31 December last year, the summary states.

“Eight investigations had exceeded the 45 day timescale and an assurance was given that action was in hand to improve on this,” board papers said.

They continued: “The report also contained comparative information relating to the recommendations arising from investigations over the last three years.

“Attention was drawn to the reduction in recommendations related to clinical risk assessment processes over the last three years. This continues to be an area of major attention with significant ongoing investment in the improvement of team and individual practice.”
