FINANCE: Shadow commissioning budgets in Derbyshire for 2011-12 will allocate quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) savings to GP practices along primary care trust boundaries.
The cluster QIPP challenge has been “shared” across the five consortia. Draft budgets have been prepared for each consortium, broken down to practice level.
Information on the total QIPP challenge has been allocated out on the same basis as budgets, so as to inform GPs of the total QIPP challenge down to practice level and to help them understand the differing starting points of the two PCTs - NHS Derby City and NHS Derbyshire County.
Two members of the PCT finance teams have been named as finance leads for the GP Consortia. Miles Scott will be finance lead for the northern consortia and Phil
Cowley will be the finance lead for the southern consortia.
A further 12 members of the two PCT finance teams have been designated “consortia facing” and will support the two finance leads.
