COMMERCIAL: Derbyshire Healthcare FT has embarked on a new three-year contract to provide substance misuse services to people in the city of Derby and wider county.

The trust is working in partnership with voluntary sector providers to deliver services, which transferred at the start of April.

Acting chief executive Kathryn Blackshaw said winning the bids for both Derby City and Derbyshire County was a “major achievement”.

She said the trust would establish “an innovative consortium approach”, working with drug and alcohol charity Phoenix Futures in the city, and with Phoenix Futures and Derbyshire charity SPODA in the county.

“I am particularly impressed with the effort and energy our staff have given to these successful contract wins and thank them for their tireless contributions,” she told the trust’s April board meeting.
