WORKFORCE: The manager of Bassetlaw Hospital has retired after nearly 20 years in the role.
Mary Mitchell, hospital manager at Bassetlaw Hospital, retired at the end of March after 19 years in post.
Ms Mitchell first joined the NHS in 1968 as a management trainee and then worked in Birmingham and Worcester before coming to Bassetlaw Hospital.
She has worked through a number of organisational changes including the merger with Doncaster and Montagu Hospitals NHS Trust, to form the current trust, in 2001.
Ms Mitchell said: “I am really going to miss the staff at Bassetlaw Hospital. We are all very proud of this hospital and I know it plays a very important part in the success of our trust. I want to wish everybody well for the future and thank them all personally for the support that they have given me over the years.”
