FINANCE: Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Foundation Trust is aiming to make savings of £20m in the new financial year – equivalent to 6 per cent of its turnover.

The trust has signed contracts with its commissioners for the coming year which will see its planned income increase marginally.

It expects to make substantial investments in the year including increasing the number of A&E consultants, developing a new paediatric care model and improving obstetric and anaesthetic cover.

The plan would allow the trust to deliver the 1 per cent surplus required by Monitor.
