PERFORMANCE: The Care Quality Commission has recommended some minor improvements following an unannounced visit to Dorset County Hospital FT.
The trust was found to be compliant with each of CQC’s 16 essential standards for registration but inspectors raised three minor concerns: around care and welfare of people who use services, safeguarding people who use services from abuse, and safety and suitability of premises as well as a moderate concern that patients’ nutritional needs were not being met.
The CQC was concerned some patients who may have suffered dehydration and others suffered long waits for assessment in the emergency department or had to wait in corridors at busy times.
