WORKFORCE: Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust is dependent upon staff leaving to achieve its savings plan, board papers reveal.

The £144m turnover trust has to find savings of £6m this year and so far has identified £5.1m of savings.

A report to July’s board said: “We have a critical dependency on staff turnover to enable pay savings, which represent the major portion of overall savings, to be delivered.”

The papers said workforce planning for 12-13 includes the removal of a further 55 full time equivalent posts from the establishment, of which 35 have been identified.
