PERFORMANCE: Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust has reported that it did not breach any of its terms of authorisation in January 2011.

Board papers for the trust’s February 23 meeting show that the percentage of patients whose discharge has been delayed stood at 5.44 per cent of bed days that month – a modest increase on December’s figure of 5.23 per cent, but still comfortably below the Monitor target of 7.5 per cent.

The 95 per cent target for patients receiving follow-up contact within seven days of discharge was also beaten, with the trust recording a rate of 98.73 per cent. However, the trust still fell short of the primary care trust contract target of 100 per cent.

Other compliance targets met or exceeded included the proportion of new psychosis cases being dealt with by early intervention teams, access to healthcare for people with learning disabilities, and data completeness.
