Dr Oscar Duke

Oscar Duke is a doctor, broadcaster, and trusted medical expert known for making complex health stories clear, human, and engaging. He is now a resident GP on BBC One’s Morning Live. Born with the genetic disorder of albinism and its associated visual impairment, Dr Duke brings lived experience to his work, offering a rare blend of medical expertise and personal insight. 

Dr Duke is passionate about how design decisions influence safety and accessibility in daily life. Medicine boxes, travel tickets, receipts, and official documents often use text that is simply too small or low in contrast for many people to read comfortably. This affects people with sight loss, but also millions of others whose vision has changed with age or fatigue. The result is frustration, loss of independence, and in some cases real safety risks.
