PERFORMANCE: Cases of C difficile rose faster than planned at the trust in the first three months of 2011-12, latest board reports show.

“Four cases of C difficile (post three days) were identified during June 2011, bringing the total year to date to 17 against a planned trajectory of nine,” the performance report to East Lancashire’s August board meeting states.

“The score in the Monitor compliance framework shadow monitoring has been increased to one to reflect the risk this poses going forwards,” it adds.
