NHS Midlands and East’s provider development committee has raised “principle concerns” with 14 trusts.
The principal concern rating for the NHS trusts is mainly driven by issues with finance, quality, service performance and/or governance.
Trusts currently within the principal concerns category include:
- Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust
- George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust
- Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust
- Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust
- Northampton General Hospitals NHS Trust
- Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts
- Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
- Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust
- University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust
- University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
- University Hospitals of North Staffordshire
- United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust
- Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust
- Wye Valley NHS Trust
A range of escalation actions have taken place in the last two months with the trusts considered principal concerns including chair and CEO escalation meetings, board to board meeting discussions, SHA director-led escalation meetings, external support, review of recovery plans and some changes of leadership.
