PERFORMANCE: East Sussex has matched its annual limit for MRSA cases, with three months of the financial year still left to get through.
Board papers said one MRSA bacteraemia case had been reported in December, which brings the trust’s total cases to six. However it’s year-to-date target is five and its annual limit is six.
The papers state: “There have been six MRSA cases in the first nine months of 2010-11 against a target of five and an annual target of just six, leaving no further flexibility in 2010-11.”
