PERFORMANCE: Latest board papers reveal that East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is only a couple of cases away from busting its Clostridium difficile target but remains on course for MRSA.

At the trust’s December board meeting director of nursing Jane Hentley gave an update on its quality and safety dashboard during the eight months of the financial year to November.

Board papers stated: “She noted that there had been one case of MRSA during the financial year to date against a target of six cases for 2011-12.

“The trust was just under the limit for C difficile with 31 cases for the year to date against a limit of 33,” they added.
