PERFORMANCE: East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust breached the government’s guidelines on mixed-sex accommodation on 15 occasions in March.

NHS England has published date for the total occurrences of unjustified mixing in relation to sleeping accommodation during March.   

It shows East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust had 15 breaches and a breach rate of 1.4 – the number of breaches per 1,000 finished consultant episodes. This compares to none in February.

The trust was one of only two in the South East Coast region to breach the guidance in March. The other was Medway NHS Foundation Trust, which had eight.

Overall, NHS organisations across England reported 318 breaches of the guidance during March 2013, compared to 301 in February.
