RESEARCH: Clinicians and patients at Frimley Park Hospital Foundation Trust are now taking part in more than 100 trials – an all time high for the trust.

In 2011/12, 950 patients took part in clinical research as part of their treatment pathway and the trust has recently been the top recruiter to a global robotic surgery trial which looks at the performance of robotic-assisted surgery compared with standard laparoscopic treatment for rectal cancer . Last year the stroke team were the top national recruiter to the brief memory excellence test study.

The National Institute for Health Research has now recognised the trust for promoting a research culture across the organisation.
